Does BALLYA Flu Rapid Test can identify the H1N1 Flu (Swine Flu) virus circulating?  

-- -- BALLYA Flu A Rapid Test correctly identify H1N1 2009 flu as Type A influenza.

-- The ability of BALLYA Flu Rapid Test influenza tests to detect this new strain of virus has not been determined.  
--BALLYA has Flu A+B test kits (Flu A Rapid Test Kit and Flu B Rapid Test Kit) 

1. The Flu A Rapid Test Kit will detect seasonal, human influenza A, subtypes H1N1 and H3N2, and other subtype influenza. It will not distinguish H1N1 or H3N2, just know as influenza A.
2. The Flu B Rapid Test Kit will detect seasonal influenza B.

-- As for the ability of BALLYA Flu A+B Rapid Test Kit to detect the new virus, it is not known if either test will detect the H1N1 Flu (Swine Flu) now circulating.   

What should healthcare providers do if they perform a rapid influenza test and receive a positive result?  

-- If a positive result is obtained, the Chinese CDC requests that healthcare providers inform their regional public health laboratory promptly and obtain an additional patient specimen for quick transfer to that laboratory for further characterization of the virus.  
-- If outside China, please consult with the related department.
